Overview

Lights Out By 8 is a 5-member band from the DC/Northern Virginia area that covers your favorite pop and rock hits. Known for their engaging stage presence and energetic performance, Lights Out is well-versed in - and available for - both public and private events.

Origins

It all started in a humble basement; although our jam sessions were slightly less appreciated by Nick’s roommates. Eventually, they laid down a hard rule—lights out, music off, done by 8 PM. So, naturally, when it came time to name the band, we figured, why not immortalize the thing that tried to shut us down?

‘Lights Out By 8’ was born.

It’s a little bit of a tribute… and maybe a little bit of passive-aggressive payback. We like to think of it as our daily reminder that every great band needs a gimmick, and ours just happens to be punctuality.

MEET THE BAND

Nick Scyoc

Drums/Backing Vocals

-Fairfax, VA-

Nick acquired his drumming talent from the prestigious and highly-respected program (i.e. video game), "Rock Band". An Engineer by degree, Nick does IAM Cyber Security consulting by day and spends his nights window shopping for new pieces of audio equipment he probably doesn't need.

Emily Garrison

Lead Vocals

-Hershey, PA-

Growing up, Emily dedicated herself to the performing arts, including dancing, theater, and music. She graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Information Systems and Technology and currently works as a Service/User Experience Design Consultant. Off the clock, Emily spends her time focusing on music, performances, and ways to not hit herself in the face with the microphone.

Adam Peters

Guitar/Backing Vocals

-Hagerstown, MD-

After watching the hit film, "School of Rock", Adam picked up a guitar and never looked back. Before starting his career as a grant writer, he spent time in various rock and pop bands over the years, releasing several EPs and touring throughout the US and UK.

Will Hunzeker

Guitar

-Fairfax, VA-

Will has had a long love and appreciation for music ever since he picked up a guitar in middle school. He's a Penn State alum with a day job in Software Implementation. Will spends a majority of his free time with a guitar in one hand and a cold beverage in the other.
